|Transmission wont shift out of first||leonard Williams||1-3-12|
|My transmission will not shift out of first gear, this all started when I took the intake off to fix a fuel leak (6.5 turbo diesel)then I noticied I did not bolt the neg. batter cable back on the drivers side after I did problem still there after I bolted it back, I then changed both tss sensors, no change, I then replaced the brittle wires that goes to the tss sensors, no change so I checked the wires that goes to the tss sensors to see if power was going to them whit the ignition switch on, the test light showed no power, code 85 cleared many times but came back, any suggestions.|

|A test light is enough load to burn out the guts of the computer if the computer supplies power to the circuit.|
Youo need to have the the computer scanned. The 85 code indicates slipping transsmission.
If an element (clutch, band or gear set) has failed inside so it trys to engage 2 or 3rd but that wont work it sets this code but won't set the light on most units.
It just stays in first.
You need to either drop the oil pan and look for evedence of a mechaical failure or have the system scanned with a scanner that sees the sensors and what the computer asks the trans to do.
At a guess (60% probability) I think you have a internal mechanical failure.
