Can anyone direct me to where I can get information on changing out my 1961 GM'06- 318 Detroit 4 speed to an automatic tranny. Any info would be appreciated.

This is a very complex swop.

The rear bulkhead will need a huge hole cut into it and be reinforced.

You will also need an extra oil cooler.

Then everything from the oil seal at the flywheel , the flywheel and everything else gets changed out.

Also due to the different internal gearing , you will LOOSE about 8 mph in high.

And the fuel milage will go from the 9 or 10 you now should be getting to 6 or 7.

FAST FRED
