|Overdrive problems 1990 GMC 1500 Sierra||Greg Singleton||6-10-10|
|The problem is when you put it in overdrive in a low speeds the transmission shifts back and forth from overdrive to drive. I was told that it is a high pressure valve on the transmission and I am wondering if it is something that I can change myself or if I will have to have it done? Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.|

|The problem is called "hunting"|
There are "Reprogram" and "Shift" kits available to cure this and other issues common to these units.
The hardest thing is getting all the check balls back where they belong if you decide to do this yourself.
I usually recomend that you run in 3rd gear in town and only put the trans in overdrive on the highway.

After the engine warms up and driving in OD only I get a hesitation at 35 mph
Drop below or go above and it stops
