Transmission will not shift under 4500 RPM Randy 12-26-09  
I have a 1994 chevy ext cab 1500 w/350 it will not shift undr 4500rpm can you help me out ?

I bet it shifts really hard too. So it is probably a stuck Throttle valve, (like a kick down valve conected to throttle but also runs shift firmness and RPM) try banging the peddle to the floor sharply a couple times, if that doesnt work the pan will need to come off the valve body removed and cleaned, and finally the valve freed up. WARRNING! this usually happens when a clutch goes metal to metal or something inside fails and starts to spread metal shavings through the trans. So its a good indicator its dead or dieing. Good Luck
