Anyone with info on how to locate a repair/spec manual for a 3208 engine; best sources for good spare parts? what diesel engine oil is best straight SAE 50 Delo for worn engines?
I'm pretty good on the CAT v-8 engines, I've owned about 20 or so, and got to rebuild one. I've got manuals on them, and spare motors too, (I got a LOT of buses and bus parts) so if you need something just holler.
The other fellow is right too, you can't just throw a turbo on the CAT, you gotta change internal parts too.

It's need to have lower C.R. pistons, head with stronger valves spring, turbo/intake, bigger air cleaner, injection pump being re-calibrate, intercooler & piping for 300HP. Unless you got acces to a salvage yard for parts at dead cheap price, you better off buy a rebuilt 300 or re-power with a later model, EX: duramax LBZ or LLY 360HP/650lbs torque. Then with that power you will need to upgrade the rear end to have a vehicule balanced.
good luck wrench
I have a Blue Bird Wanderlodge with a 3208 CAT diesel. It currently is naturally aspirated and I desire to convert it to a turbo version. My understanding is it will have more pep and get better fuel milage... Does anyone know what it really takes to convert to a turbo??? I've heard everything from it's no big deal to it can't be done... Seeking facts...
