We are researching into converting our bus into a live in rec. vehicle. Unfortunatley we are having probs. deciding what and where to start first. Any ideas, tips, hints, warnings please im open for anything, and i thank you for your time and concern, have a wonderful day.

Strip the interior, check for cracks and fix them (especially around the doors), wire brush the frame and re prime with Rustoleum, make sure the floor is sound. I then screwed in spaced 1x2"s at about 1 foot spacing to anchor the walls, cabinets (overhead used 1x3 ash) ran the electrical that was needed in the ceiling (other electrical and plumbing is external from the walls for service) then had spray foam to the level of the 1x2"s for a total thickness of 2.25", lined the walls with 1/4" plywood and 1/8" on the ceiling. At this point you should run the electrical and plumbing. After that, start at the back of the bus and work forward. Do one job at a time and don't think about the other jobs until you finish that one job. If you think about the whole project, you'll go into overload. Just think of it as a bunch of small projects and pretty soon you'll see progress. Good Luck, TomC

The roof hatches in the celing make great spots for roofmount a/c units.Also if you have a wheelchair lift, I would remove it if I were you to reduce weight and also raise the ground clearance.You also may want to consider changing the gears in the rear end to suite highway travel.Oh yeah, and if you seal off the rear stepwell, that makes a great place for watertanks and/or septic tanks.
