The HD4060 is the same trans except for a more shallow oil pan. If you can use the deeper pan, it is less sensitive to oil level fluctuations compared to the shallow pan. Also, it would be a good time to get rid of the retarder and go with the jake brake. Retarders work great in the city and for short hills, but for long western US style hills, the jake brake works the best and won't heat up your transmission. Good Luck, TomC
