MAN Buses Dallas Farnworth 10-9-03
I just looked at 10 MAN transit buses in Star, NC.
They are ex Charlotte Area Transit system coaches.
My question is, being that they have the German engine, do they have a Voith transmission? and can this be changed out for an Alison?
The price seems to be right on them, ($2k/ea) but I'm not sure of anything else.
Thanks.
Dallas
Re: MAN Buses Randy Markey 10-13-03
They have Renk Transmissions (rebuilt by me.) It can be changed to an Allison with a slight modification to the convertor housing. If you change it I would be interested in the Renk.

I wasn't going to buy one of them, although I do like all the interior room they have.
The ones I started and ran seemed to pur like kittens.
The only thing that scares me is the parts availability and cost.
Under deck storage would be another thing to look at.
