Is my Am General the only one still going down the road?? Gregg 2-28-03
I have a fully converted 77 40ft wide body AM General bus and feel like mine is the only one still on the road. I have owned it for over a year now and have but over 20,000 miles on it and have never seen another one. if you have an am general coach that is converted or in the process send me a pic and drop me a line and tell me about it and I will do the same. maybe we can compare notes and learn something new. mine has a new from the factory complete long block 8v71 with a rebuilt v730,onan 7500 watt quiet diesel gen set,washer/dryer,sattelite dish, full spray foam insulation,180 gal black, 180 gal grey and 175 fresh, chrome wheels,2 roof airs,3 heaters, ect, ect. If mine isnt the only one left on the road send me a pic and tell me about yours! Im Gregg and you can email me at Pinktangerinee@aol.com (no Im not gay,my wife set up the email)HA HA ! Look forward to hearing from you and if I hear from several am general owners and if you include picks and a mailing address I will make up a book showing all the pics I have recieved and email addresses and all specifics and mail one to each of you FREE OF CHARGE! so we can all take a look at what the other guy has been up to! but I probably wont hear from anyone because I think mine is the only one left on the road!Gregg Pinktangerinee@aol.com (gotta change that email!)

I am living in my 76 AMG and have been since conversion in 98-99. I start it now and again but definitely need to get it on the road. I will get a pic off to you and hope I get pics from you.
I just noticed this old post on RV Coach. Don't always do research like today.
I know there are others on the road besides those who responded. Maybe I can find them back on old emails.

There is Bob with his 77 AMG. He hangs out on the MAK board and bus nut board:

I have a 1974 Flyer. It is the same as the Am general except for the drivetrain. I have been working on my Flyer for the past 6 years and still have a lot to do
Re: Is my Am General the only one still going down the road?? Frank Zsitvay 3-12-03
Do you count other Flyer versions of the AM General? My D901 is basically an AM General from the entrance door back, V drive setup and all, while the front is a fiberglass cap with two piece windsheild like a Gillig Phantom.

Myron, is your Flyer one of the earlier T-drive coaches? Does it have rectangular passenger windows or the parallelogram "new look" windows?
