We are putting to much demand on our 12volt side of our RTS. Does anyone know how to increase the power for the 12volt side, we see our volt meter drop as low as 10 volts. The inverter will not start is power is below 12 volts. The 24volt does fine. How do you increase power to the 12volt batterys.

What I did with my RTS is buy a transmission PTO alternator mounting bracket off a V-drive Flxible bus, and mount a 130 amp Leech-Neville alternator on it. This alternator can tie right into the 12v disconnect switch of your bus and it won't hurt the RTS 24-12v step down unit. Sounds like you are drawing off one battery. Does your rig have a voltage step down unit which reduces 24V to 12 V? This allow the use of both batteries.
Another problem may be with the battery equilizer. It senses which battery is not charged and directs the charging voltage to the low battery
Just got a 1979 RTS, I'm planning on putting in 110 volts AC to run all the
Stereo, TV, VCR, DVD, small refrigerator etc. Could anyone tell me what I need and where to get it.
Also, what are the interior flouresent lights run on, AC or DC and at what voltage?
The flourescents are 12vdc input ballasted or 24vdc input ballasted. It depended upon the orginial ordering property. Most were 24vdc. Best 120vac method is a generator. Backup or on the road is a 24vdc to 120vac converter. Be sure to get one that truely produces sine-wave ac. If it does not it will likely damage electronic devices.
