||Hello. The bus is made of stainless steel which is under fiberglass panels that are replacable. The roof and front end just before the front tire is stainless steel as well. The only thing that isn't stainless is the bulkheads and the suspension framework. In salty areas they will rust out but are replacable/repairable. It is a STRONG bus bullet proof as well, with styling. There are two airbellows in front and four in the rear. 10 ton Trane airconditioner. The 6v71 is a great engine though lacking in power compaired to a 6V92, but it is a dry sleeved engine and that is a plus in some instances. I like RTSs I own two of them plus one Flxible Metro. I like the RTS. The RTS is built with five foot modules welded together and the ribs are stainless steel tubular square stock that goes up the wall accross the ceiling down the other wall and there are stamped stainless steel sheet stock between the tubular structure. I would also look at where the bus is from and if it has stainless steel bulkheads grab it. the bulkheads are replacable but, at a cost. the transmission is a three speed transmission including an overdrive, Allison V730. You most likely will be going 60ish and that is about it unless it is geared higher. with a 6V71 you are most likely going to be geared at around 5.3 to 1. If I were you and you want a "transit bus" get it it is the easiest transit bus to convert to a limo/motorhome or the like... Tom.
