Do you have any Detroit 6V092 Bus Engines(complete). We need a side laying engine for our bus. We have been told the Engine must match with the Vin numbers engine #. Our Vin number is 1GF4AB2K8AD092657. We need to get this as soon as possible as we are stuck in the city it broke down in and our kids were to be in school. Deb, there two types of 6v92 Detroit engines, one is just a 6v92 and the other is a 6V92TA whick means it has a turbo. You must depermine which your bus is equiped with. Drop in a silver 92 V8 400 to 500 Hp same mitor 2 less clynders on V92 then you will have a real bus. see you later semi trucks.There was one on e bay new not rebuilt this week.

Deb, the first thing you must do is determine which engine you have in your bus. There are two: a 6V92 and a 6V92TA, the TA is trubo equiped. Which engine do you have? Here are some people that may be able to help:Central Detroit Diesel, Colby,KS 913-462-8211 Ozark Diesel Pwoer Springfield, Mo.800-782-7574 and United engines, Little Rock, Ark 501-562-5565. I am looking for a 6V92TA to put in my Prevost Champion. I would also like to use a HT740 Allison instead of the present 6 speed manual transmission.

Recently bought a 1977 gmc with a 6v92 electronic engine what do I have to do to switch to manual I can not get it to run and fed up with wiring nightmare

Do you still need a 6V92 for your prevost bus. I can supply you with a engine and transmission, i do recomend you consider a 750 allison. And maybe changeing out you rear end gear to a higher gear. This will give you a better high way speed and better fuel economy. I will need to know if you need a right hand or left hand rotation engine. All of our engine come with a full one year warranty and meet E.P.A emission standards for heavy duty diesel engines.
