I own an 69 crown with a new engine by cummings, a nerw clutch, brakes, etc with an outstanding body that cost me only $5000. the problem with crown is storage space and for it to really preform you need to turbo charge it. What a difference. My crown is converted, but still only runs 65 at 2100 rpm, top end. I love my crown but I am going to sell it for I now own an mci that I am converting.. In driving the crown you need to make sure in shifting that the rpm match the speed or you will grind the hell out of it, this takes practice. . .
The original Crown manual is virtually impossible to find. I have gone through many buses, and know many bus owners,. and have only seen one in the last 12 years. Gilligs usually have theirs, but Crowns never.
However, the manual I had before for a Crwon was nothing remarkable anyway. It was as big as a phone book, had a lot of stuff that I didn't recall as being that useful.
I instead make Cown manuals from the other catalogs Ihave. there's one for the engne, one for the tranny, one fot the rear end, one for the electrical,
one about capacites, and youhave most of the bus covered.
If anyone wants me to assemble one of these I will do it. I have manuals that cover all three kinds of common engine makes, the best manuals I have are for Cummins and Detroit, but I have a smaller one on the V8 CATs. I actually enjy reading them and althogh I don;t understand everything, it lets me in on important stuff I would otherwise never know.
See ya and happy bussun'
