I want to put ceramic tile on the floor of my bus that i'm converting. do any of you fine people have any suggestions or warnings? i'm concerned about the flex and vibration. what should i install it over and with what? any an all information will be greatly appreciated.

There are additives you can add to the grout and Thinset to give it more flexibility. Look for Add Mix. Some claim no special treatments are needed, others insist they are. I suppose a lot has to do with how solid the floor underneath is.

The base you place the tile on is most important. Size of tile and kind of tile are second consideration. You need to place dura-rock on the floor before tile. As most bus floors have a 3/4-1" plywood sub-floor, 3/8-1/2" dura-rock is plenty. It can be purchased at any lumber supply store and should be screwed down. You will find it to be a perfect base for any tile,and when you use thin set you can not get it up once it dries.
I have basically the same question, is there a spl thin set type product that would be better in an RV and what about the grout, I would suspect that regular grout would crack after it is dry if the floor flexes.
