I have access to purchase about 10 busses. I must decide in the next couple of days. They are all 1989 IKARUS 416.01 with DD6V92 DDEC II engines and ALLISON HT748 transmissions. They have ROCKWELL CAM-MASTER Q-SERIES brakes and axles. There are stationary dark windows and bench seats installed. They all have air conditioning but none work. This may be one of the reasons they are available. They have approximately 500,000 miles each.
I confess I know little about buses, but I did manage a fleet of 50 trucks for an industrialdistribution company. I suspect that there is a good opportunity here. I will have to buy all the buses at a cost of about $3500 each. Is there a market for these? Please cc to my email aratermann@msn.com if you respond
Do you have any Detroit 6V092 Bus Engines(complete). We need a side laying engine for our bus. We have been told the Engine must match with the Vin numbers engine #.
Our Vin number is 1GF4AB2K8AD092657. We need to get this as soon as possible as we are stuck in the city it broke down in and our kids were to be in school.
Please contact me at 812-744-6303 (please leave a message if we do not answer).
I WOULD BE VERY INTERESTED IF YOU HAVE THE ENGINES. PLEASE FORWARD TO ANYONE WHO CAN HELP ME.

The engines are going to cost a grand a piece to tear them out of a bus.. No so many idiots who hear "the engine alone is worth 5000" GOD does that irritate me to no end. If you buy the buses for 35,000 that is a lot of cash you would do much better with ONE older Prevost or MC9 than city buses. But taking out engines and trannys is a major huge undertaking and requires lifting equipment and torches and all kinds of bullshit you don't need. I am tired of people taking out engines in perfectly good running buses and thinking "well the truck driver I knew paid 13,000 for one engine" remember bus engines run in reverse (V drives) and they are two stroke ( I personally love them and the sound is not to be beat) but trucks boats generators and buses are moving quickly away from 2 strokes and going to L 10s Cats (not my favorite and watch them love to slip in sleevless engines which I call amatuer engines) and series 50 and 60s, so the two strokes on an open market won't bring in nearly as much as 10 years ago. But them if you want to restore collect and enjoy, revenue reason, get one GOOD running motorcoach that is new as you can afford and start there then once you get one paid for you can leverage for more buses your business size is up to you. Mike.
