1974 starcraft venture pop up camper pulley system / canvas April 12-30-07  
Just bought a used 1974 starcraft venture pop-up camper - canvas in fair shape - might want to replace - not sure where to begin?? The cable pulley system is not working - using 2x4 boards to hold up - stable but not sure if safe with kids coming and going!! Anyone know what it might cost to replace pulleys - is it possible to do the work ourselves???
Any ideas!!!!?????

I have a 1974 starcraft camper, and the front will raise up fine but the back dont want to raise up I ran out of cable but the top was not fully up.
So why trying to get it up the cable broke. where do i get a new pulley system or what do I do

There was an ebay store that specialized in t trailer parts as i understand gthere is realy only 3-4
manufacturers for all crank systems ever used on ttrailers if in canada call wks tent trailer rebuilders in edmonton ab
1990 starcraft pop up w. e. wyatt 7-10-08  
My lift system will not work it will not roll the line on the spool. I have the top down and have removed the lift system. This is the small 1000 lb. starcraft. Can any one help?

I should have also mentioned that they also sent out aluminum support braces that clipped on to the lift beams to make sure the roof would not fall. Same idea that you are using the 2x4's for.

I had the same problem with my 1972 Starcraft. I raised the roof and put in the safety supports. I spliced in a new cable along side the broken one and connected it to the center lift(where all 4 cables meet). Just make sure the cable it very tight when you reconnect to the center lift. I also changed the center lift cable, which was much easier

April:

Starcraft had a recall on the Venture lift system because the cables were originally carbon steel which rusted and broke. The recall replaced the cables with stainless steel cables. This is likely part of the problem. I believe Starcraft may still support that product.

The cables on my 1974 starcraft venture recently busted and I'd like to know if anyone has any clue on how to replace and attach them to hold the trailer up. I am also looking for a diagram of some sort that will enable me to repair it myself.

We purchased a venture pop up and are guting it out and we will be using it to haul remote control airplanes. The front left 4 stage lift system has a broken pulley ( the middle one ) do you know of a place that i can purchase these. I appreciate any help.

I have a 1974 Starmaster. Front cables broke. Want to redo all cables. Does anyone know how? Also One slide out rail is bent and needs to be replaced. Where to find a replacement

I had a 74 venture and I got tired of looking for the cables and proping it with 2x4s and just bought a new camper. My venture frame made for a good base for a utility trailer. I moved the wheels to the outside and put rails on. Great trailer, very heavy frame.

Hi, do you still have your tent trailer? did you find a new rail? if so where did you find it? I have a 1974 venture 1060 I need the right front rail.
