I had a 34' RV and had to replace the fridge. I went from 3 way to straight electric. I had it for over a year and never had a problem. In fact I told my wife when we get another trailer I don't care what condition the fridge is in, if its not straight electric im replacing it.
I don't want to deal with the problems of the older 2 & 3 ways. And when something goes wrong, its expensive. We never had a problem with food spoiling because when we were at home it is plugged in, when we are driving/traveling its running off the inverter. When we camp primitive, run the generator. When we are at site, we plug in. we bought an extra deep cell- for fridge only- in case of emergency. We never used the battery. If you turn the fridge on in normal room temp. 65-75 degrees, you can transfer items straight from home fridge. With the 2 & 3 way, you have to turn them on 12-24 hrs. prior to loading. So-basically-YES, use that home fridge with confidence. |
