Re: Monomatic Toilet by Dan Ferguson
Post New Message The monomatic toilet by Monogram Industries is or used to be one of the best on the market. To "charge" the toilet first connect you sewer hose and dump it to make sure it is empty. The dump valve is located in the front near the floor. There may be a clip on it slide the clip off to the side then just pull the handle towards you. The dump valve will open and the contents will run down your sewer hose and out.
Close the dump valve replace the safty clip. Then get a bucket with three gallons of water in it and poor it into the toilet. You have just 'charged' the toilet. You can now add some chemical to it so it will not smell as you use it. You can pick up RV chemicals at any RV store or even WalMArt. Of course Monomatic wants you use only their brand. Some of these rv toilets are manual flushing via foot valve. When you flush it, it circulates the water/chemical waste mixture thru a grinder and redcirculates it. Flush it a couple or thre times depending. If you have the electric model all you need do is push the electric flush switch and it flushes or circulates automatically for a pre-determined time then it shuts off automaticaly. For a good clean flush if you have to do a #2 they reccomend folding over a couple pieces of toilet paper and placing it in the bottom of the toilet first then when yo flush it it will flush much cleaner. Hope this answers all your questions.
