Need help...1986 Coleman Savannah has a/c unit on top..anyone know if this thing is supposed to crank up so darn hard??? Some brainiac I know said that it's because of the a/c unit on the top and it's heavy!!!!????...can anyone confirm?
Also, tried to do so much research online on my model pop-up, however, nothing found...can anyone tell me if they know if my model is comparable to any others for replacement parts? Even online replacement parts stores aren't listing the Savannah.
I own a Savannah without the AC unit, and it does take some work to crank up the top (especially when first starting off) so I would think having an AC unit up there would make it that much harder. You might try lubricating the cables/pulleys found on the bottom of the camper with silicon.
The Coleman Plantation is a similar model, and had the same parts. The Plantation was larger, with a built in toilet, but most of the parts are compatible.
We have a savannah and it shouldn't be hard to crank up. We also have an a/c unit on top. When our's got difficult to crank up the chain on one of the side's broke and we had to get the whole cabling system replaced. It was that expensive-about $250.00. We got them all replaced because of the age. Hope that helps.
