|Slideout problem||Walt G||4-5-03|
I'm having a problem with my slide out on my 1994 Carri-Light 5th wheel trailer.
The problem I am having is the slide out fuse is blowing like there is a dead short in the
electrical from the control box to the motor.
My question is, where is the slide out control box #CSO-1000-95 located on the trailer?
Have you had any other problems like this?
The trailer is a 1994 Carri-Lite Cashay Series Model #528RKS
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

|Here are a couple of questions you might want to consider: 1) Did you have the right size and type of fuse? Does it require a slow-blow fuse? |
2) Is there a (plug) connector at or near the motor? If yes, does it still blow when the motor is disconnected? If it does then maybe a (power side) wire has been caught in some sliding mechanism.
3) If the fuse does not blow when the motor is disconnected it might be the motor or it might be the power source. You might want to measure the voltage of the power supply and see if it is robust enough. If the available power to the motor is weak then the motor may be going to a stall situation. In a stall situation the current goes way up.
5) If the switch is starting to go that may cause some significant amount of voltage to be dropped there. A significant voltage drop there may cause the motor to go into a stall situation.
4) You might have a short in your motor.
(Oh, I listed my email as PhyChemMthZZZ@aol.com but you need to remove the three Z's to make it valid. Just trying to prevent automatic programs from adding me to their email list. Put something like "trailer question" in the subject line so that I do not auto-delete your message.)

We have a 1994 Carriage Carri-Lite Cashay Series 528rks that the power slide has stopped working. I'm told to check 1) the switch 2) the relay 3)the motor, but have been told NOT to cut through the under belly..
Please point me in the right direction.. We are new to RVing & could use any knowledge you have.

|I ruined my slide-out motor and replaced it with and identical motor. |
But it runs too fast and makes the computer stop the slide.
Where can I find a replacement motor?
