Kenworth RV Hauler Gordon 2-25-03
I am thinking about converting a Kenworth T-600 Tractor Trailer into an RV hauler for a 5th Wheel RV.

Is anyone else using a Tractor to haul an RV with? If so, are you using a tandem axle or just a single axle? How does it handle going down the road?

I have two 60" sleepers that I am thinking about slapping together and then converting the sleepers into a mini-RV so I can legally have my wife drive (she doesn't have a CDL). But before I get serious, I want to know how good tractors are for the ride.

You may want to talk to someone who is already doing this sort of thing. Kingsley Coach, I believe, has a similar setup.

I did a search on this web site and found their URL. It is www.kingsleycoach.com.

Hope this helps...

I haul my 38'5th with B model Mack tractor, twin screw, turbocharged 673.
You are going to have to modify the suspension of the tractor to keep from shaking hell outta the trailer. I did it with adding air bags to the steering axle, and cutting down the rear springs stack- so tandem was riding on 3 leaf springs- not 12. Worth it though, looks really cool, and the exhaust with straight pipes is to die for. No problem hauling- don't even know its back there.
