|5th. Wheel Braking Question||Glen New||2-22-03|
|First I must say I am new to the RV world.|
We purchase a 02 Hornet 5th. wheel & a 02 GMC 2500 HD last spring and have had a problem with the brakes since day one. The Dealer installed 3 different brake controls. The first 2 performed the same when you applied the brake every lightly you may travel over a 100 yards with nothing happening and then the trailer brakes would lock.
With the 3rd. control (which is a different mfg.) when you touch the brake whatever intensity you have the control set to that is what is applied to your trl. brakes, in other words it is impossible to come to a slow rolling stop.
After several trips to the dealer I decided they know less that I do.
Your comments will be appreciated. Feel free to E-mail me, firstname.lastname@example.org

|I'm new to the RV world too. Bought a 33'Cardinal 5th wheel to go with our new F 350 PSD. I bought and installed a Tekonsha PRODIGY brake controller..apparently the # 1 preference in all the forums I read. It was easy to install and works fine. |
