|Elx-30 converter cooling fan||Bruce||7-11-14|
|I have an Elixir ELX-30 power converter on a Chalet trailer. When I had it out last weekend and plugged into external electrical power, the cooling fan whirred a few seconds & then quit, and repeated the cycle every 20 seconds. It sounded like it was trying to run but didn't. I unplugged it at night so we could sleep. Any ideas? Thanks.|

|It may be that was normal, but I doubt it. You would have to run the converter at just exactly the right load and not change anything for this to happen. Not turn on lights, not run the pump and so on.|
I am going to guess that either the fan is bad or the controler inside the converter.
You could find a similar fan at an electronics parts store and change it.
But I bet Either way your converter has probably overheated so bad it will fail soon.
