Ford Windstar + hitch + terrible noise Tom 7-22-02
Hi, i'm from Poland & i have a big problem. I have Ford Windstar'98 GL 3,8 witch hitch (hidden hitch international) 3500 lbs. My trailer weighs 2800 lbs. I have no original ball mount (other manufacturer). When road is in good condition everything is OK, but if the road is bad codition i hear a terrible noise (this noise is made by witch & ball mount). It is very loud metallic sound. When ball mount is into the witch i fell a little margin between these parts. Is it normal ?
Mayby the problem is no original ball mount ? What should i do ?

Thanks
Tom

Tom do you hear a sqeaking noise from the ball and tung of the trailer when you make a turn... Well I think maybe you should check the size of the ball on your hitch to the tung of the trailer and see if there is any play even a half a centimeter can cause what your saying... Please E mail me if I was of any help...Or if you have any other questions.

Tom, Not having seen your vehicle/s it sounds like the ball might be the wrong size for the trailer tongue or the ball is lose on the reciever part of the hitch. If not, then the size of the reciever may not be correct for the hitch platform itself.

Make sure that all the hitch bracket bolts are tight and then maybe take a trip to your mechanic or a hitch dealer(U-haul, Canadian Tire, etc.) and have them take a quick look.

Safety is always important.

I have a 1992 Econoline windstar 27' RV and need brake lines. Do you know how much they would cost for the brake lines?
