|Tent trailer wiring problem...NIGHTMARE||Jim||7-29-11|
|Ok here goes.....Have a pop up tent trailer that use to have a 4 flat connection. When I bought it, I had a Durango with a 7hole. I made the switch from the 4 flat to 7 hole. I have since sold my Durango and have a 2006 Torrent with a 4 flat again. I have switched the trailer back to a 4 flat and here is my problems.|
Trailer End(wires from trailer)
When I hook up the new 4 flat connector to the trailer side, matching up rights,lefts etc. I get mixed results. If i match everything only the left blinker blinks.
If I hook up the trailer brown+red+ vehicle green then all the brake lights work and turn signals both flash if you turn on right turn...nothing happens with left turn. If I do trailer brown+red+vehicle yellow(instead of green) then nothing happens. Only thing certain is vehicle brown(taillight)+ trailer green(taillight) work 100% fine.
I checked a few fuses and the ground looks clean.

|You are chasing your tail so to speak.|
Sit down with a test light and check to see the truck works correct. Check the ground!
There are normally seperate fuses for trailer tow and vehicle tail and brake lights.
Then you have the correct wiring listed above
