Coleman Sequoia wont go down Adam Norman 9-15-10
I bought an older Coleman Sequoia pop up (late 70's or early 80's). It has the two cranks on the front (1 in the middle by tongue and the other up higher by the corner of door side). Problem: I cant get it to crank down. Seems it has a lock or something. It also has a small Y shaped metal piece by the middle crank that I was told locked it. I turned it counterclock wise but no help. It is just locked in the up position. I sprayed liquid wrench on the wiffle tree the best I could. I went to take the cover off to access the wiffle tree but it wont come off easily. I hear I dont wanna take it off or I may never get it back on. Can anyone help me figure this out short of burning the good ole trailer?

The upper crank point will allow raising the top faster but with more effort than the lower crank point. The "Y" near the lower crank turns on/off a ratchet mechanism for safety when raising the top. Turn clockwise to engage the ratchet, counterclockwise to disengage. One issue is that the ratchet is not releasing. Another could be that the cable slipped off a pully and is wedged.
