Our camper is in good shape except for the hard tops on the camper and storage unit. The hard top has cracked on two corners. We have tried to put a putty type material for campers on it but it did not work and the cracks are now too wide. Is there any way it can be repaired or where can we find a new one to replace it.
The storage part on the front has a separate lid and is leaking. The rubber seal is there, by has come completely off. What type of glue do we need to use to reattach it?
i used weatherstrip glue (black) for the seal problem.
for the cracks I filled them in with this paint/glue like material that they use to fix chips on boats...comes in white or off white..(you can get it at a marine/boating place)
I then used seal tap over the cracks after that had hardened..the tape I got at a commercial roofing materials supplier..I got one sided tape..it goes down like regular tape..however you press down on it and it virtually wont come off..turns into glue or gum against the surface...
it has worked great..better than replacing the hard top thats for sure..
