Recommendation: Which Travel Trailer To Buy? Joanna 3-11-09
My Husband and I are looking to buy a travel trailer. We would be appreciative for any advice on what to look for when buying one. Also, which manufacturers build great travel trailers and which ones should we stay away from?
We have found a new 2007 (yes, 2007) Keystone Passport that looks great and the dealer is asking $17,999. Is this a good deal? Or, do you think there is something wrong with it since it has been sitting on the lot for two years?
Thank you,
Joanna

A lot of times they might sit because of the floor plan. We have had 4 5th wheels plus a mh. Also if one has sit for a while be sure to check condition of tires. Just because they have trade does not mean they are good. Check between the treads for cracks which indicates dry rot.
The last thing you want is a blow out.
Make sure that your tow vehicle can handle this 5th whl. Most all trucks can tow but stopping a heavy trailer behind you is another thing.

Whoah----- Its been sitting for 2 years-- I hope the dealer sealed it every 6 months---- Check out the roof and make the dealer give you an extended leak warranty-- I would have them go over the roof very carefully as the sealant cracks in the sun......
