Load support for Tacoma 4X4 John MacBain 6-15-00
I have a '99 Shadowcruiser 700 slide-in, pop-up camper and I have a '98 Toyota Tacoma Xtracab 4X4. Has anyone out there have a load stabilizer setup for this particular combination? I was considering installation of Firestone Ride-Rite airbags and would appreciate any information and options. I have installed aftermarket rear springs which is 3/4 inches above stock. Thanks!

Go check out Air lift air bags (check the preformance auto catelogue). They install between the rear springs and body frame. Pump in air to increase the carrying capacity and add stability. However they may rub against the rear spring. If you call Air lift, sorry no #, you can get a smaller diameter bag. ALso have your mechanic move the rear spring out 1/4" with a couple washers. Did this on my '99 and it works well. BTW where did you find a '99 shadow cruiser, we have an older one want a new one but heard they are out of business. Let us know and send a note if you have other questions.
