The one bus I got the bid for seems like im not going to het it becuse there know saying therwe should have been a minimn bid so they want to put it back up for bid with monum bid so know Im back to thinking school bus. the ones I am looking at ar flat nose deisal. My first question is how many seats can you leave in and still have it be a moter coach conversion. I am starting to bike race. and kayake race and want to take a few seats out on one side make an area for the bike and the boat gear. then figure some kind of wrake on top the bus for the kayake. then in the back make a sleepping area. I want to leave some seats in for if I find others going to races to ride along top pay for fuel costs. and also I do some races with suport crew and want seats for them. what is a normal low bid I can put in and likcley get a school bus they are 85's gmc Auto trans
Not neseaasrly if it is just frinds going to races then you dont need comerical bs heck you and frinds in a regular vehical all the time get to ghter and combine gas money. Wond up finding the bus I am going to buy though and it gets goood gas miliag eit is a can bus looks like a van but is a bus withles then 500 miles on the engen it was the back up bus for the river float company and they wre going to sponsore me so I get it for 150 bucks
"if I find others going to races to ride along top pay for fuel costs."
This will make you a commercial bus, YOU need real commercial insurance , a CDL, and local DOT inspection.
Insurance is about a grand a month.
Less than 16 seats can in most states be registered as a van.
