I have inherited a 1975 Bluebird
converted RV school bus.
The rig has a 330 Ford V8,
A five foward speed tranny,
and a two speed rear diff.
It is a full bodied Bluebird
that is about 1/2 the length of
a full sized bus.
It was parked for four years but
has good tires. They have even held
air the entire four years!
I changed the oil and put new gasoline in it
and it fired right-up.
It has beds to sleep 4-6 people
has a propane stove, sink and electric frig.
It was painted with house paint which has
weathered off and the yellow is showing
over about 50% of the bus.
The engine is quiet and has 140 pounds
of compression in all cylinders
with 40 pounds of oil pressure
at idle.
what is a bus like this worth ?
I can get it for free-- or let
another relative have it.
It is in Utah-- and I live in Denver
Colorado, so it will cost me a
couple hundred to drive it home
and a couple days off work.
I have a place to park it-- if
I paint it soon the neighbors will
not complain.
It depends on what condition it is in. If solid, no major dents, no major rust, I would guess at between 500 and 1000 dollars. Just a guess, based on the 2 schoolies I have bought in the last 2 years. I have a good mountain bike I will trade you for it. Will go anywhere and the mileage is much better than the bus.
Have fun if you get the bus.
