427 came in Camaros, Chevelle, Chevrolet,Chevy II, and Corvettes from '66 putting out from 390hp to 435hp, the last in '70 at 435 hp with 3 duces. I believe the 427 was replaced in '70 with the 454 with 374 hp to 450 hp. If memory serves me right, the 348 were truck engines that were installed in cars until the 409 was ready. Have a good one.
Both are equally good. Try to get one with a "4" bolt mains. They are sturdier than a "2" bolt main. The 454 are installed in cars and trucks.
Go to a wrecking yard and get one out of a 3/4 or one ton truck. Pull the pan and check the journal or give your GM dealer a call and give them the VIN. They'll be able to tell you whether it's a 4 bolt main or not. Good luck.
