A 7.3L IDI got no electronic, the 444E does, so a apropriated wiring harness is required. It can be done. If the engine is going to be mate to an automatic allison tranny, you will need bellhousing & flywheel adapter, torque plate. If going with a ford tranny it won't last with the extra power, you will need to use a torque shift tranny. In what vehicule are you projecting to do the swap?
wrench
If you are wanting to swap, purchase the complete donor vehicle so you will be able to use all of the wiring harness, all of the sensors, and any of the different parts and pieces the T444E used.
And I would echo very loudly that if you try to mate it with any automatic not an Allison you are going to be disappointed.
