Cyl head for '81 International 340 gas Bryan G. 12-6-00
I own an '81 Wayne school bus on an International truck chassis. It has a 340 gas engine, and one cylinder head needs rebuilt. I'd like to find a spare to get rebuilt first, then just do a swap. International no longer sells this head (reman or new), and local junk yards don't have it either. Any suggestions for International gas engine parts like this?

TIA,
Bryan

I don't know where you live, but if your in the country, you should be able to find one sitting around on an old farm truck. All the International trucks of that vintage used that engine, or the 392. Most of the farms in my area (New York) have a few old trucks sitting around, behind barns, etc. This is a good resource for parts, and one of my reasons for buying a schoolie. Hope this helps, _bus40

I think I have one. Gimme an e-mail or a call (559) 251-3814 as I just bought an Internatinal flatbed last week, and it has extra parts, and has two extra heads. I think the engine is a 345.

See ya
