Want to put a 9-11 liter diesel in schoolie RandyinVa 10-9-06
Can anyone start me off in the right direction to put a true class a engine in my short schoolie. I prefer to put in an auto trans with it.

Chassis is a Loadstar 1700, it is a short bus, 5 window. I need to pull a 21000 lb trailer by a fifth wheel.

Thanks in advance.

Buy a truck.

Randy;

In any swap, you need to figure out the overall size of the engine you want to put under the hood. Get the overall length, width and height of the motor you want to use. Make note of where the deepest point of the oil pan is from the front of the motor and how wide the bellhousing is. Once you measure how much space is available under the hood, you'll know if the motor you want to use will fit. Keep in mind you need to make room for things like the accessory drives and exhaust pipes.

Also; Do some research into the chassis you have to find out what the biggest engine used for it is. This will tell you if suspension parts exist or if you have to get things like custom springs to handle the extra weight of the motor you swapped in.

Hope that helps!

Take a look at the International DT466.
