WANT Schoolie conversion or shell Jim Beck 9-14-06
Want either a already converted school bus in good shape or I'll convert one myself. What do you have?
Re: WANT Schoolie conversion or shell Jim Martin 9-20-06
78 IH School bus. Runs. Good shape. Put new tires on front when we got it and rotated best tires to back four. Recently replaced brake lines and other components on braking system so that's in good shape. Recently replaced spark plug cables and distro cap so that's in good shape. We used it for camping in so we added a pull out step to the back door. We have a ring and pinion set that we'd throw in as part of the deal in the event you're interested in changing the gearing to be different from the standard school bus gearing. Would help with the already good mpg of 15 and give you a slightly hirer crusing speed. By law we had to change it's color so we painted it dark purple with a white top. I have a picture of how it looked a few years ago but that's the only pic we have. e-mail me if you're interested. We'd like to get $1800 out of it but will entertain offers.

Jim

BTW we're in Ft. Wayne Indiana.

Sorry forgot to add that we've removed most of the seats except for four at the front, two that are two rows back from that. I installed two plywood platforms over the wheel wells to allow them to be used for storage easier. I'm sure I could give more details if you can think of any questions to ask. I'll leave it at that.

I have a 1985 IH/Thomas Diesel bus im wanting to sell. its a full size 77 pass with all seats except last 2 in the back installed. DT-466 diesel engine with a 5 speed manual transmission runs really well and has fairly new tires with 80% tread on them and driver side freshly painted school bus yellow with new brakes. for $2,500 bus is located in Minnesota
