Well it looks like I 'am the new owner of a bus, wait until the wife finds out, the bus info is above and they put in new batteries also and full tank, will get more records on Fri.The other International 86 full size went for $100 running ( no typo). Made friends with the people who know the history of it and will talk to the driver soon who ran it for yrs, my price was $275 including the auctioneer 10%, the bus is in our school district.Only 2 people wanted the 2 buses, me and another guy and we made a deal to not to bid up on the buses and it worked out.I will also find out more about the new motor they put in and what the true mileage is They tell me I will get 10mpg...don't know at what speed...now I have to pull seats.

Hello Jimmy, im almost sure your bus will have a allison AT-545 transmission in it, i dont know about the rear axle but you may be able to find out from the vin like on most Internationals you can call the local Chevrolet dealer and give them the vin and they should be able to figure out the gear ratio for you. hope this is helpful to you and congratulations on your purchase of a nice bus. good luck and if you have any more questions ill be glad to try and answer them for you.
happy busing

Sorry for the delay Bus man,I haven't look yet for a axle ratio yet didn't see a tag. My 11 yr old son helped getting the seats out with no problem once we broke loose the bolt I unscrew by hand,Texas buses save time and no rust to deal with. saving all the seats (foam with plywood and vinyl(the bottoms are 15x39 so you can lay 6 across the floor for a bed untill I work on a bedroom plan) will dye & cut the backs for curtins and back rests with new fabric. A friend who works for a cabinit shop thats is moving told me to go to the dumpster to get some scraps of 3/4 ply ( pecan, birth, white oak ect ) so it looks like I got some thing to work with. started to paint the ceiling today and will lay the floor with 3/4 foam and 1/2 ply the cabinit shop had 3/4 plywood strips 6"x 8'for me to used already as runners between foam.Maybe get the tags and insur soon, very little money in it so far just a few weekends of time, I plan on having less than a $1000 in it by May ready to go. Need to window tint and make screens for the inside using magnets to hold them in place, so many ideas...............

Good luck with your Bluebird bus. If you will ever be converting your Bluebird bus door and will no longer need the original driver's handle, shroud, and linkage, please contact me, I am looking for the handle, shroud, and linkage.
