Some Info on 90 GMC 7000 drivetrain mario 12-3-05  
I have a 1990 gmc 7000 3 ton truck with 8.2 DD v8 tranny is 5 speed dont know what type and eato rear end...this truck is reving very high if I go 80kmh it revs like at 2000rpm how can I go at least 100kmh and still retain the 2k rpm range?

Those eng's run at higher rpm's than most diesel's 3000 rpm is max it won't bother it

Their max rating is at 2800,
the turbo output more up to 250 with an after cooler.
Nornaly you drive 10% of the max rated RPM above the rated max torque=
max rated hp 205 @ 2800
max rated torque 442 @ 1700
= drive at 1900RPM at trafic speed (60-65)
