Hello FOLKS!!

I'm new at this whole bus conversion thing but I'm completely engrossed with it. As for the last few months I have been living, breathing, eating, thinking and dreaming in yellow. From January to April I traveled on a RAINBOW KITCHEN SCHOOL BUS and fell in love with the idea of converting a bus into an RV. I know nothing at all about the important thing to convert one and was wondering if anyone would throw down some know-how? I want to go DESIEL because my buddy here in Knoxville, TN can convert it into BIO-DESIEL.
My plans for the bus is to park it at the university I attend and live in it during the school year and then take it out west in the summer. If anyone can help me out I’d love it!!!

There is so much good stuff on the web already from the folks that post here. Some of the best websites I can give you are (in no particular order):
http://www.mobilehomestead.com/
http://www.pettypb.com/bus/
http://www.vonslatt.com/bus-link.shtml
All these sites have additional links as well!

For technical resources and opinions, take a look at http://www.phrannie.org/phredex.html

For a good deal on a used bus, look at http://www.used-bus.com/. I bought a used conversion van from their Kankakee, IL location and got a great price and great service! They have locations in IL, MI and IN.

*BEFORE* you start; ask someone in the administration at the University if it is OK for you to camp out in an RV while attending classes. You might need to find an RV park as well as a place to do the conversion!

Hope that helps!
