There are 128 busses to be auctioned by Nationwide Auction in the next couple of weeks in Atlanta, Benecia CA (near Sacramento) and Industry CA ( near LA )
If you are looking for a bus you need to tell what state you are in or what state you will be traveling near. Try to state what size you would like. You could also call local heavy mechanics to find out if they know where one is for sale. For a WVO SVO or Bio-diesel project you will need a diesel bus. I looked into doing this WVO conversion on a VW Golf until I blew the engine.
I found a site with good plans on how to convert a school bus.
There are many different companies offering conversion parts but you can build your own kit that is more suited to your needs. The biggest problem would be obtaining a large aluminum tank. This would be the part that costs the most in a conversion project if you have it specially made. You can obtain a used aluminum 30 gallon tank on ebay rather cheaply shipping will cost a lot though it will also be shaped oddly. The remainder of parts can be ordered new from JC whitney, Such as port valve, Secondary fuel gauge (if desired), making a heating element (either coiled copper tubing or just a heater core inside the tank.) Once you get the tank you will have to modify it for a guage sender and heater element. If you are getting a used tank you will need to fill up the tank with water before cutting. It would probably be better to use a air cutting tool rather than cutting into water filled tank with something plugged into the wall. I haven't done this convesion yet but I plan on doing it as soon as I get another diesel car.
There are several websites and forums that have usable documentation and pictures to help you along.
