Seatbelts on schoolbuses Richard Galvan 11-18-03
Dear Parents:
We would like to introduce you to a non-profit organization, Future Human Resources, incorporated under the laws of Texas. We hope you will join us in resolving an issue that has been around all over the country for several years. The issue of seat belts in our school bus fleets has been debated at parent-teacher organizations all over the country without any resolution that would satisfy the majority of the population. Future Human Resources was organized to coordinate the country's voluntary participation by soliciting support from government entities, private foundations and the general public to furnish seat belts and their installation in bus fleets of those school districts that request them.

The application for non-profit status for Future Human Resources was processed under Internal Revenue Code Sections 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code and approved as of June 10, 2003. Our Board of Directors has the authority under our by-laws to implement checks and balances that will assure compliance of these regulations. In our contacts with school districts, the organization will be guided by the government policy in effect at the time as carried out by the school districts of each state.

We ask that you join us to meet this dire need to preserve the future of our country, our children. Your support will become part of a nation wide appeals responses from government entities in the form of grants, foundations, other non-profit organizations, parent-teacher associations, corporations, small businesses and the general public.
Together we can come together to relieve the burden on government of a concern that affects each one of us individually.

Should you need further clarification, please feel free to contact us at (210) 277-2750.

Sincerely,

Richard V. Galvan
President

Multiple studies have shown todays schoolbusses are safer than the family car. the students feet are at normal eye level, compared to cars. In testing with lap only belts, 40mph-0 all students were fataly injured, with shoulder belts results were similar. With varying student sizes no one size fits all seatbelt would protect, plus could one bus driver making equal to minimum wages, be able to ensure your student was wearing their belt properly all trip long, we cant even say that as adults we do the same. the seat backs are heavily padded- in case of accident, the student "bounces off".

I was just wondering if someone can give me information about seatbelts on schoolbuses...If it would actually be a good idea to have a law passed to have seatbelts on schoolbuses...I'm doing a paper on this and any help that I can get would be greatly appreciated.
