Diesel is the way to go. My '90 66 psngr Blue Bird has an 8.2 litre turbodiesel. It weights 16,000 lbs, and gets 10 mpg average at 65 mpg. If I go 69, it gets 9 mpg. If I slow down to 57 or so, it gets up to 13.5 miles per gallon. You can expect a gasoline engine on a similar-sized vehicle to get 3.5 to 4.5 at the best. |
