Joz--I have a 1992 Bluebird flatnose I am converting with my wife's help (our 6th bus, first flatnose). Height is only 10 feet. Tour buses go as high as 13 feet 6 inches-- THE LEGAL MAXIMUM NATIONWIDE. Most interstate underpasses are only 13'9" and quite a few two-lane underpasses are much lower than that. If you are going to do alot of traveling with the bus you get you will probably be happier with keeping to a lower height bus. Also, when you hit the road you will really appreciate having a copy of a book that is available in any truckstop. It lists pretty much every low clearance underpass and bridge in the US and is updated yearly. This book is a true "roofsaver" Hope this helps you, email me if you want to chat about conversions. I don't know it all by any means but have learned an awful lot over thelast 25 years, most by mistake. Will help you any way I can.
Yep! 13' 6" is MAX height for ANY vehicle on the road. The government getts kinna upset when you start to try to knock down the overpasses, on the interstate, with your tripple decker....? LOL
