I have an 87 Bluebird Navistar 60 Pass. bus. I want to build a party deck on the roof for race events. Anybody have ideas/pictures they can share? Any thing would be great.
Check out http://www.skydeckrv.com for some ideas and pictures. These are 3 awesome models, diesel-pusher, 5th wheel and pull-behind. I saw the diesel-pusher in Boston early last year.
Well, I am converting mine as a gear rack/deck. I am only begining the lift process now. If you want to chat, I have some ideas.
My suggestion is to make it as multifunctional as possible, and hopefully get some storage out of it. Other than that, make sure to keep to the bow areas (where the rivets are) for your structural elements. I also suggest taking off an interior panel to see how the structurer works. You wouldn't want a saggy roof, would you?
OK. MY thoughts of what I will do.
1. Build a structually sound flat platform, just above the bus roof.
2. rear access ladder to get up there.
3. keep people from falling off the roof.
4. To do this, ya need a 4 foot fence around the perimeter, right?
5. I am still working on the idea, but a hinged fence to put up when ya get there?
6. As a sailor, stansions and cables to keep people from falling off?
I have a 28 ft. school bus. I am in the process of building a party deck on top of it. My plans are to run 4 pieces of 20 ft angle iron on the top of the bus from front to back. I am going to bolt these on through the roof on the supports. I am going to use rubber washers and silocon glue to prevent leakage and rusting. I am going to weld a platform to the roof right off the angle iron. Then I'm going to basically make a utility trailor on the top of my bus the weld hindges that will fold the railings down. this makes it so that I can put bags and coolers up there the fold the rails ontop of that stuff. I will be at every Gerogia Southern and Georgia football games as I can. Come visit.
We have a party platform on the back and top of our football bus. We have a website were there may be some pictures that you can check out. www.groups.msn.com/badgerbus
If you have any questions email me.
Your bus is bad as hell. Tell me more what year is it? What do you charge people to ride? Please view my bus and reply. You might have to hit refresh once due to the size of the pic.
