Looking for school bus Chris 1-23-03  
Looking for a good school bus for camper. Prefer automatic, but would consider manual. Should have a big diesel (turbo) air brakes, etc. I am in the western Colorado area. Want to take it to Alaska this summer.

Any advice on type of bus would be great.

I have diesel school buses, Crowns and Gilligs with almost all engine types, mid engine and rear engine.

I also have Allison automatics (5 speeds) and fire truck parts, and LOTS of bus parts.

You can come and look at anything I have, put 30-40 miles on it if you wish, watch the water temperature, oil pressure, air pressure, etc. and then you won't hurt my feelings if you keep looking around for other buses.

I don't sell any bad or broken/patched up stuff. Those kind of buses get parted out, or I use them for storage.

Fine looking hunk of hardware

Built like a brick house.

Flat nose, avoid the "hippie bus" stigma of dognoses.

Adaptable driveline. Can equip it with Spicer 4 or 5 speed, Fuller Roadranger 10 or 12, or auto.

Tandem axle models have drive to both axles. 8 drive wheels, 10 braking wheels.

Small underfloor compartments. Not much, but more than other schoolies.

Built on a truck chassis. Uses truck driveline, brakes, wheels, tires. Truck tires are $300 each, bus tires $400 each.

Later ones have turbo, dual air system.

Available at $2500 - $13500 depending on condition.

I have a 1974 35' Crown w/ 855ci 250hp Cummins, 6 spd auto.Extensive rebuild and service work done by school district before I purchased. Seats removed.Great bus! Have original Crown manuals as well as extra filters,2 extra wheels & tires, and Crown fastner tools. New motorhome plates.In SoCal high desert. First $2500.00 takes her home!Photos available.

Don't miss the large number of buses on E-Bay! I just checked and there are many. Go to ebay.com then click the link for ebay motors and the sublink buses and motorcoaches. Careful! There are a lot - enough to get you drooling on your keyboard
