Yo Sheila,

I'm about to pick up a bus for my own conversion in S.CA, although this is only a 40pass. bus.
I'm fairly handy at some things and would find it interesting, if we could share some of the experiences I'm about to face with another 'converter'. So, if you'd like to correspond, feel free to respond. I'm in the Bay Area. Good luck, whatever you decide to do. Pete

I'm in the process of converting an '89 71 psg.Bluebird w/gas engine and Allison
trans. ($Cost $2000.00 w/108K miles) Ex-cellent condition, minor oil leak and needs new exaust system. To date: interior finished but no electrical, plumbing, etc. yet. With seats removed, placed 1/2" plywood over entire floor & carpet, 3/4" plywood on sidewalls w/3-4" rigid insulation, except for front two windows on either side. Wood paneling over plywood walls. Flat/ foil-faced insulation over center windows before installing plywood & paneling. Used high quality semi-gloss house paint on exterior after roughing up the surface with elec. sander. I'll send pictures if requested. Spent $4500 so far including cost of bus. Good deal!!

Forgot to say that the ceiling interior has been finished w/4' x 8' decorative wall panels cut down slightly on the long dimension, going across the top w/matching plastic connectors along each edge. Looks great!
