Post New Message Hi, I opperate a charter boat fleet in the Caribbean, we have a total of 8 boats 6 with twin detoits, 8v53,671TI, 8V71TI, and the other two twin Cummins 555 and 6BTA. These boats are worked hard 6 times a week and in a boat there arn't any gears so it is a constant load.The cummins are good engines especially the 555 but from what I and my counterparts have seen nothing and I mean nothing can touch the detroits. If possible go with the 671. All the best,
