I love my 67 gillig conversion but know i want to give the crown a go.looking for a nice 60 or 70s crown. also what is the noise factor with the mid engine? and is their engine access through the floor? Ron Detullio taos nm
The mid-engine Crowns are fairly quiet. I own a 1969 Crown Supercoach with a 671 Detroit Diesel Engine in it, and you can hardly hear the engine when you're driving down the freeway.
There are two engine access doors on the outside on either side, and there is also an engine access panel on the inside of the bus so that you can get to the top of the engine if needed.
Are you located in California? I know of a couple places that sell Crowns here in So. Calif., and I also know of a couple private parties up north who have some Crowns for sale.
