My 1975 Crown has a button labeled "transmission nuetral by pass". What is this?

The transmission neutral bypass is for if you want to start the bus while it's in gear. If you have it in gear, press that button while you turn the key to start it, and it'll start. Otherwise, the bus won't start unless it's in neutral.

The Crowns with manual transmissions have a neutral safety switch much like automatic transmissions. The by-pass allows you to start while in gear. It also allows you to start if the switch gets out of adjustment. Mark O.
