How do I keep spiders and spider webs out of my bays this fall?

We just bought an rv and the po used cloth clothes dryer sheets in all bays, around propane (which attracts spiders) and in various areas of the rv. He read in Trailer Life years ago about this tip. He said it worked for spiders, mice, and ants. He said the brand of dryer sheets didn't seem to matter. He bought the large bulk size from a discount store. There were no bugs, etc.
